Kei puta te Wairau – The sun always finds a hole in the clouds in the Wairau.

The Wairau Valley is the home of Greywacke and in particular the wind-blown loess soils of the Southern Valleys, fundamental to the structure and style of Greywacke’s fragrantly aromatic pinot noir. Established in 2009, Greywacke’s philosophy is to honour the sunny, maritime climate utilising the indigenous vineyard microflora to create wines reflecting the uniqueness of this South Pacific land.
