Paul Pujol

DAY ONE

Paul Pujol returned to New Zealand and joined Prophet’s Rock in Central Otago as winemaker in 2005. Paul brings extensive international experience in Pinot Noir and cool-climate white wines from his time with top domaines in Burgundy, Alsace, Sancerre, and Oregon.

At Maison Kuentz-Bas in Alsace, Paul became the first non-family winemaker since the estate’s founding in 1795, producing wines from six Grand Cru vineyards.

The genesis of the Cuvée Aux Antipodes collaboration with François Millet started when Paul was invited to work the 2009 vintage at Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé in Chambolle-Musigny. Since 2015 the two winemakers work together on this unique project, which sees François journey to New Zealand to make a cuvée of Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay each year.
