Madeleine Stenwreth is an international wine consultant based in Sweden with experience in nearly every aspect of the wine business.

In 2008 she became a Master of Wine and was awarded the Quinta do Noval Award for the best dissertation “The effect of altitude on Malbec in Mendoza”.

Prior to setting up her consultancy in 2010, Madeleine worked as the quality and product development manager for a leading Nordic wine importing group, as wine buyer for the Swedish alcohol retailing monopoly (Systembolaget), as marketing manager for Wines of South Africa (WOSA) and as head Sommelier and in various managerial roles at 5-star Relais & Châteaux.

Madeleine consults globally to high profile wine producers on product development, inspires and challenges winemakers on blending and quality & style strategy as well as being an appreciated coach and competence-booster for trade professionals. She holds seminars at trade events, lectures for sommeliers, WSET Diploma- and MW students.

Madeleine is a Panel Chair at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) in London and is a frequent international guest judge in highly respected wine competitions around the world. In 2013 she was the international judge at the Air NZ Wine Awards.
